Recording contract for The Voice winner has been changed

The winner of The Voice Australia might not take home the prize they were expecting after Confidential discovered the recording contract will be with a different company.

Sunday night’s winner of The Voice Australia might not walk away with what they expected to, with producers quietly changing the prize details.

Sunday Confidential’s interest was piqued this week when it was announced during the show the winner would receive a recording contract with EMI.

It came as a surprise given EMI is an offshoot company of major label Universal, which has for seven years supported the reality singing competition.

However, coach Delta Goodrem has vowed to take both her team members under her wing regardless of the outcome of the grand finale.

The singer has mentored Jordan Anthony and Daniel Shaw throughout the eighth season of the popular show.

Daniel Shaw is one of the finalists who could win The Voice.

“I’m beyond proud to have two artists in my team going into the finale,” Goodrem said.

“I have complete faith in them both and no matter what happens tonight, once you’re part of Team Delta you’re part of this team for life.”

“I can’t wait to see what they do following this show.”

Jordan Anthony (Team Delta), Daniel Shaw (Team Delta), Diana Rouvas (Team George) and Zeek Power (Team Kelly) will go head to head in Sunday night’s grand finale on Nine.
