Popular children’s entertainer John Pearce has become a father for the first time, bringing the total number of Wiggle offspring to 10.
Purple skivvy-wearing Pearce and wife Jessie excitedly welcomed the arrival of baby son, Henry Nicholas Adamo Pearce, on Monday.
“Today, my heart is filled with so much love and happiness,” Pearce told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’m incredibly proud of Jessie and overjoyed to announce that I now have a son! Words can’t capture the excitement I feel.
“I’m so grateful for Henry our tiny miracle and for the overwhelming love and support from our family and friends.
“Welcome to the world, our precious little boy – you are already so deeply cherished, and we can’t wait to see the amazing journey that lies ahead for you.”
The former Justice Crew member has been with his partner for 12 years, married for nearly six. They live in Sydney’s inner west with their Ragdoll cat, Bally, and now, baby Henry.
Tallying up the offspring of current Wiggle members, Henry’s birth brings that number to 10 while there are 18 in total since the group first formed in 1991.
Caterina Mete is mum to twins, and fellow Red Wiggle Simon Pryce has one son.
Lachlan Gillespie, who also wears purple, is a father of twins and has a third child. Anthony Field has three children, one of whom, Lucia, is his co-Blue Wiggle.
In June, Pearce and his wife spoke of their joy at becoming first time parents.
In the exclusive interview, they detailed the fact that they had been trying to conceive for several years.
Jessie suffers from Polycistic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
“You face challenges with understanding when your ovulation is so we weren’t quite sure when the right time was to conceive,” Jessie explained at the time.
“That was the major challenge for us so we needed a little help with ovulation and first try we were successful.”
John said: “The universe says it is the right time. A lot of people think it is so easy to fall pregnant, that was our approach for the last few years.
“We thought when we were ready, it would happen like that but when we started actively trying without being too clinical, we faced a few challenges along the way and with some help from some professionals, we ended up conceiving.”
