“I currently weigh-in at 93kg but I want to get to 100kg so I have a number of different friends training me and nutrition plans in place. We are the same height, well he is a tiny bit taller, but you can’t rule me out. I don’t deserve to be a long shot.”
The pair are climbing into the ring to raise money and awareness for homeless support charities the Exodus Foundation and the Bill Crews Charitable Trust.
“I just want to make a difference,” Laundy said.
“I built a large profile trying to date Sophie (Monk on The Bachelorette). I am trying to use that platform to do some good and raise some money.
“I don’t need to use my social media platform to get paid to promote toothpaste, I can use my profile for initiatives like this.”
When asked about his tumultuous love life, Laundy was philosophical.
“I am not dating anyone, I am happily single,” he said.
“I wasn’t happily single for three or four years after separating from my ex-wife.
“I think you would describe me as unhappily single. I was in a rush to find someone.
“But that show slowed me right down and now I am happily single.”
