Hamish Macdonald has been branded “the rudest man on TV” by viewers after a heated argument with his The Project colleague Steve Price.
The pair got into a heated argument on Wednesday when discussing the Federal government’s plans to introduce a bill to offer LGBTI students greater protection in schools.
A bolshie and abrupt Macdonald simply cut Price off midway through voicing his opinion as he didn’t agree with what he was saying — breaking journalism’s golden rule of remaining impartial.

Minutes after the segment aired, The Project’s Facebook page was bombarded with more than 230 comments from shocked and disappointed viewers, slamming Macdonald for his “childish” behaviour.
“Hamish and Georgie (sic). For people that proclaim to be non biased in your delivery of topics sensitive or otherwise, you most certainly let yourselves down tonight with the way you both treated Steve Price. The arrogance and childish behaviour that you, Hamish, displayed this evening was very unbecoming and most certainly makes me question your ability to host The Project in a level, informative and respectful manner,” Wayne Cooper said.
“How disgustingly rude is this Hamish …” wrote Jan Price.
“Wow if you don’t agree with Hamish, let’s just turn you off and dismiss you then talk about you when you can’t answer back,” wrote Helen Martin.
While Angelina Petrin wrote, “Hamish is a nasty piece of work when someone doesn’t agree with him. Why invite Pricey on to have his say and completely cut him off as soon as you realise he doesn’t agree with you guys …”
“I am disappointed that Hamish is on The Project. I have found him to be aggressive or downright rude with some of his interviews in the past and his discussion with Steve Price was a perfect example of that,” wrote Judith Carpenter.
