Popular eastern suburbs couple take romance to the next level

One of Australia’s most successful architects, who fell for his eastern suburbs neighbour hard and fast, has taken his romance to the next level, leaving many people “very happy”, an insider revealed.

They fell for one another hard and fast and now eastern suburbs couple Nick Tobias and Dana Lewis are taking their romance to the next level.

The successful Sydney architect and his girlfriend of only a few years became engaged this week.

Tobias, who is touted as one of the country’s top architects and one of the east’s nice guys, shared a photograph of himself and his “very sweet” fiance sporting a massive diamond ring, to his Instagram account overnight.

“Lots of people are very happy about this engagement,” one insider said. “They are a really lovely couple.

“Both previously married well. Nick’s ex-wife’s family is the Darling family who are from old money, and Dana married Oceana Fund’s David Lewis whose family is also hugely successful.
“They are an attractive couple, both very sweet. They are both Jewish and very into art.”

Up until 2019, Tobias was married to model-turned author Miranda Darling.

The pair share two sons.

Lewis was previously married to David Lewis, with the pair last photographed together in 2021. They also have two children together.

As their love was blossoming, in 2023, Dana purchased a $8 million home next door to Tobias.

In 2024, it was revealed Dana had sold her Bellevue Hill mansion with her ex-husband to F45 co-founder Rob Deutsch for more than $37.5 million.

She then submitted plans to combine her Watsons Bay home with Tobias’ to build a three-storey house that will join their neighbouring homes, creating a six-bedroom property complete with a music room and bar.
