IT WAS the worst kept secret on Australian TV, now even former Home and Away actor Pia Miller confessed that Kat Chapman’s death on the show didn’t shock anyone.
For months, the media has reported the leaked storyline of Channel 7’s emotional send off of the mother-of-two.
Even Miller, 34, herself suggested to her Instagram followers that her emotional farewell was widely known.
“Spoiler alert! (Not that it hasn’t been all over the media for months)” she wrote overnight.
“I’ll be live after tonight’s episode to say a big thank you to all of you who have joined me on Kat’s epic journey through summer bay.”
Miller told TV Week it was a “surreal” moment to hang up her police hat after playing Kat for three years.
“It was a huge part of my life for three years and I am so proud to have been a part of Home And Away,” she told the magazine.
“It has provided me with a really solid foundation and so many skills.
“It was super emotional. The cast and crew become an extended family, we spend more time with them then we do our own families sometimes so it was incredibly hard knowing I wouldn’t be returning back on set the following week.
“Like with anyone’s last day, we have a really nice exit ceremony with everyone and our producer, Lucy, makes a toast. I felt sad but also really proud to have been part of the show.”
It’s been a year of highs for Miller, who announced her engagement to boyfriend Tyson Mullane with a touching message on social media last month.
The couple took to Instagram to share photos from the proposal.
“In a hundred lifetimes. In a hundred worlds. In any version of reality. I’d find you & I’d choose you. Yes today. Yes always,” she wrote.
The couple confirmed they were dating after photos emerged of them holding hands on a Sydney beach in February, 2016.
Miller separated from her husband of eight years, footballer Brad Miller, in October 2015.
She has two children from previous relationships, Lennox 10, with Brad, and Isaiah Loyola, 14.
