Lindsay Lohan chased by paparazzi in Sydney

Wild child Lindsay Lohan has been laying low since touching down in Sydney last week, however the paparazzi got the drama they’ve been looking for when one Daily Mail reporter was filmed driving erratically to keep up with the star.

While on her way from the Langham Hotel to a ‘meet and greet’ at the Four Seasons with The Masked Singer co-stars Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, Dave Hughes and Dannii Minogue on Monday, notorious celebrity chaser and Daily Mail reporter Ali Daher and his side kicks were filmed swerving into the oncoming lane in a bid to get a snap of the Mean Girls star.

Video footage obtained by The Daily Telegraph shows Daher overtaking another vehicle on the wrong side of the road, before speeding up and driving through multiple pedestrian crossings.

Sources on the ground claim Daher was then approached by police for parking in a ‘no stopping’ zone.

While it is not believed Daher was working for the Daily Mail at the time, a spokesperson for the news website said, “Daily Mail Australia does not condone poor driving by either photographers or journalists.”

One security guard who works with celebrities in Australia, said the ‘fanarazzi’ as they are often referred to are becoming increasingly brazen.

“These celebrity chasers are becoming a big problem for stars, their security teams and chauffeurs,” one insider who did not want to be named said.

“Daher and his fellow star chasers will do anything to get a ‘selfie’ with visiting celebrities.

“They are not fans, they are professional autograph hunters.”

When The Daily Telegraph phoned Daher for comment yesterday, he denied driving erratically and said he was simply trying to dodge the paparazzi.

“The photographers were the ones driving recklessly,” he said.

“They were trying to hold back fans so they could get exclusive photos.

“I wasn’t doing anything which was overboard. I had paps trying to run me off the road …”

“Police asked me to move from a no parking space but I showed them my car had overheated and that the NRMA was on the way, so they let me go.”
