Packer’s last-minute decision to skip Karl and Jasmine’s wedding

Just two days before Karl Stefanovic marries Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico, his great mate James Packer has pulled out of attending the high-profile couple’s nuptials. Here’s why.

James Packer has pulled out of attending close mate Karl Stefanovic’s wedding just days before the big event.

The billionaire is understood to have changed his plans after his mother Ros flew to Argentina to meet him and continue her 80th birthday celebrations in South America.

“Unfortunately he is not able to make the wedding due to this being such a special opportunity to spend time with his mother on this auspicious birthday for her,” a source told The Daily Telegraph.

The news comes as Today host Stefanovic and soon-to-be-wife Jasmine Yarbrough flew in to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico ahead of their Saturday wedding.

Former Nine boss Packer and Stefanovic have been close friends for years.

He was the highest profile guest expected to attend the nuptials at Mexico’s exclusive Palmilla One&Only resort.

Others still expected to attend include former foreign minister Julie Bishop, model Jordan Barrett, cricket great Shane Warne, and Stefanovic’s TV host brother Pete and sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys.

“While he’s disappointed he’ll miss it, James is looking forward to catching up with Karl and Jasmine after the wedding and celebrating with them at a later date,” the source explained.

“There is nothing but love between James and Karl.”

Yesterday, Stefanovic and Yarbrough were photographed at Cabo Airport with his children Ava and Jackson, after a two-day stopover in Los Angeles.

Dressed casually for the two-hour plus flight, both wore sunglasses while Stefanovic accessorised with a fashionable cheese-cutter cap.

Yarbrough’s father, Bob, was also on the flight, carrying his daughter’s Jess Andreatta-couture designed wedding gown.
