NRL player Tom Burgess, Tahlia Giumelli postpone wedding due to Sydney lockdown

Model Tahlia Giumelli and South Sydney prop Tom Burgess have cancelled their wedding venue and changed the date of their big day due to Covid-19.

NRL WAG Tahlia Giumelli and her fiancé South Sydney prop Tom Burgess have postponed their upcoming wedding.

The couple, who got engaged at the end of 2019, have changed the date and cancelled their wedding venue altogether due to Sydney’s ongoing lockdown.

“After almost two years of planning. Tom and I had to make the sad decision to postpone and move our wedding venue completely,” Giumelli wrote on Instagram.

“With another wave of Covid hitting NSW our priority is and always will be the safety of our family and friends.

“I have no doubt when it happens it will be just as amazing. Really feel for all the brides who have had to do the same. But right now a wedding didn’t seem like a number one priority. Can’t wait to finally say I do in hopefully more simple times.”

Giumelli is currently in hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast with other NRL WAGS as part of a lockdown bubble.

She and Tom, 29, are parents to two young daughters, eight-month-old daughter Elodie and Sophie, who turns two next month.

Bras N Things model Giumelli, 27, previously revealed her plans to wear two wedding gowns on her big day.

Her daughter Sophie was also set to be a flower girl.

However, the couple remained tight-lipped about the date and location.

“We’re keeping the date and location to ourselves. We want the day to be as low key and private as possible,” she previously said.

“This day is really for our girls. Tom and I are committed to each other. We’ve got two kids, the house and the dog. Our wedding is really for our kids to show them how committed we are.”

Earlier this year, the couple dropped $2.61 million on their “forever home”.

The sprawling Woolooware home, sits on 595 sqm, has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a swimming pool.
