Home and Away star James Stewart says he has no time for romance and prefers to focus on his daughter rather than finding love.

Aussie hottie James Stewart says being a dad means having no time for the ladies.

The star, who debuts his new role on Channel Seven’s Home and Away tonight, joined the Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning telling listeners that he’s not ‘banging’ anyone at the moment, and in fact it’s been years since he has.

“It’s been a while mate, it’s been a couple of years” the actor confessed after being hounded by Kyle Sandilands as to how long it’s been since he last had sex.

“But I’ve got a little girl in my life and I just don’t have enough time at the moment,” James told the show.

The 40-year-old, who has daughter Scout with ex-fiance Jessica Marais, says being a father is “absolutely” his number one priority, adding the former couple are dedicated to raising their four-year-old together.

“Jessica and I are a parenting couple – it’s all about Scout and we’re all good,” he said of the pair who originally met on the hit Aussie show Packed To The Rafters and spent six years together before splitting last May.

The dedicated parents have proven their commitment to Scout, having recently celebrated their adorable daughter’s fourth birthday together.

But while he’s a hands on dad, James says there’s definitely difficulties that come with raising a child in the spotlight.

“I bought home a magazine the other day and Scout sees mum and Scout sees dad and Scout sees herself and I’m having a hard time trying to explain exactly why you need to brush your teeth, other than why you’re in magazines, you know these conversations aren’t easy to have. It’s kind of her life and she’s coping really well,” James said.

However, with the star appearing on Home and Away for the first time tonight, it seems the family is destined for more attention.

One thing’s for sure though, James says he’s not in a rush for romance and especially doesn’t intend to get cosy with any Summer Bay co-stars.

”When the camera comes on set and everything rolls up and you have to look across the room to your partner, you really don’t need any confusion” he said laughing.
