Nick Kyrgios has revealed he’s found his perfect match in girlfriend of six months Costeen Hatzi, and the romance could see the tennis star make a big life move.

After forking out $1.6 million on a Sydney base, tennis star Nick Kyrgios has hinted at settling down with his girlfriend of six months.

The 27-year-old has increasingly been spending time in the Harbour City, where girlfriend Costeen Hatzi is based in Zetland.

“She is definitely the one, I am in love with her and she is an amazing person and an amazing support for me,” Kyrgios told Confidential.

“She is my best friend literally. We go through ups and downs together but I love her to bits.”

Asked if she helps him keep a level head, Kyrgios said: “I am very calm off the court, literally one of the most chilled people ever off the court.”

“I feel like I am just happy, anyone that finds their person that gets them and you are in love, it is good for anyone, not just for me. I guess for me as an athlete, just to know that I have got that person there that can overcome and have that shoulder to lean on whenever I need, that is what I love about her.”

Kyrgios, who won the Australian Open doubles title with Thanasi Kokkinakis earlier this year, previously dated influencer Chiara Passari in what eventuated into a very public and messy split.

He and Hatzi, a brand ambassador, blogger, home decorator and model, meanwhile are prolific in their declarations of love for each other, regularly sharing their relationship on social media.

Kyrgios will on Wednesday make a special appearance as guest of honour at an event on Sydney Harbour to mark Hennessy’s global partnership with America’s National Basketball Association (NBA).

Basketball has long been a passion for the tennis champion who grew up in suburban Canberra.

“I love basketball, I love everything about it,” the Boston Celtics fan said. “I love the team aspect; I love the culture, the fashion, the energy … it is just amazing.”

While admitting every day he thinks “nearly every day” about life had he pursued basketball professionally, Kyrgios has no regrets with his chosen path of sport.

“I love the way my tennis career has gone and the platform I’ve got. I’ve been able to link with NBA players. I don’t have any regrets but basketball is definitely a big part of my life.”

Basketball, he continued, helped with Kyrgios’ tennis training.

“It definitely benefits my movement and my fitness when I’m out there on the tennis court,” he said. “So I use it as a bit of a training mechanism.”

Kyrgios meanwhile is believed to have paid $1.6 million for a penthouse in Sydney’s Kensington. Reports at the weekend suggested he had bought the three-bedroom, two bathroom apartment with sweeping panoramas.
