Look out Rita, tennis star Nick Kyrgios is trying to lob into your private message space.
Brit singing star Rita Ora is now in town to film the new season of The Voice. And, it seems, Kyrgios is keen for a singles match.
Rumours from the set suggest the tennis star has been “sliding into Rita’s DMs” since her arrival in Sydney.
Ora is one of the 159 people that Kyrgios follows on Instagram. It’s believed he is a big fan of the chart-topper and has been sending her direct messages on social media.
“It’s not something Rita is taking seriously,” a source from the The Voice said.
“It’s been a bit of flirtatious banter, nothing more and certainly nothing Rita is serious about.”
It comes as Ora sat down with The Daily Telegraph for an exclusive chat at the Sydney Opera House — where she has now fulfilled her dream to perform at the iconic venue.
“I’d never actually been in the Opera House. It has been one of my dreams to perform here,’’ she said.
Ora recorded a performance of her new single Bang Bang inside the world-famous landmark during a break from filming The Voice.
The performance was then beamed on to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in the States.
Ora will call Sydney home for the next few months as she carries out her coaching duties on the refreshed TV singing series.
She will also perform at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
It comes only a few weeks after Kygrios’ dramatic split from Chiara Passari.
Ms Passari alluded to the break up when she posted an image of herself laughing courtside, captioning the pic “Laughing at myself for believing a….” with the rest of the sentence crossed out.
She then posted another image onto her Instagram story, revealing a quick fire text exchange with Kyrgios where the tennis star allegedly called her “disgusting” before telling her to enjoy her hometown of Canberra “for the rest of your life”.
In a since deleted video, obtained by The Daily Telegraph, Ms Passari told her followers in the early hours of Friday morning she was confused about the situation between her and Kyrgios.
“Today I learnt that apparently publishing personal text messages between someone who has sent you something really abrasive and rude is more damaging to one’s well being and career than driving away and proceeding to message their best friend to ask them if they’re kicking on and then proceeding to club until 6am,” she said.
The pair were last seen together on Feb 12 when Ms Passari cheered Kyrgios on from the stands as he bowed out of the Australian Open.
