Rita Ora has hit the ground running after completing mandatory 14-day quarantine.

The British pop star has met with her fellow coaches ahead of cameras rolling on the new season of reality singing show, The Voice.

“Australia is home to some of my favourite musicians and writing partners I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” Ora told The Daily Telegraph.

“I’m really grateful to have been invited here to be a part of The Voice this year. I can’t wait to be able to mentor the amazing talent out here, let’s go.”

Chart topping Ora flew in to Sydney earlier this month and begins rehearsals on Thursday for the series, which this year will air on Channel 7 after the network nabbed the format from rival Nine.

Guy Sebastian is the only returning coach this season, joining newcomer Jessica Mauboy and Keith Urban, who was on the first season of The Voice Australia in 2012.

The coaches met for the first time as a group last night, sitting down for dinner at Rockpool in the CBD.

“I love this show because of it’s heart,” Sebastian said. “And it is great to be back working alongside this amazing crew, and of course the legend Keith Urban, Rita and Jess who are such dynamic, talented and gifted vocalists. More than anything, I can’t wait to hear some fresh voices — the talent we have in our country always astounds me.”

Mauboy too was excited to get started.

“I’m really looking forward to working alongside these incredible coaches and discovering new Australian artists,” she said. “Bring on some amazing chair-turning moments.”

The season will also see Sonia Kruger return to hosting duties after a few years break following her departure from Nine.

Seven announced in August that it would push ahead with The Voice, promising to overhaul the format with a faster and more tight-paced look, making for a less drawn out show.

At the time, Seven boss James Warburton said: “This is a coup for Seven. Adding The Voice to our 2021 program slate is another brick in the wall of our content-led growth strategy of using proven, power formats.

“The Voice is a television megabrand that will deliver on our promise of more tentpoles, audience growth and consistency across the year. It is a strong performer in BVOD and will give audiences what they want: the world’s best television.”
