Neighbours star Xavier Molyneux has teased an upcoming “raunchy” storyline and X-rated scenes for his character on the classic Australian series, as he also makes his big-screen debut.
Former Big Brother contestant Molyneux, 26 – who joined the Ramsay Street cast for the soap in 2023, stars as Byron Stone, the son of iconic character Jane Harris and love interest of The O.C. star Mischa Barton.
The breakout actor from Sydney’s eastern suburbs said fans of the show can expect to see his character get hot and heavy in upcoming episodes, which have recently been filmed.
“There’s a bit of a raunchy storyline,” he told Confidential.
“I’m excited to see that one going to air.
“There was a lot of effort put in behind it. They brought in people who specialise in that type of performance.”
The former paramedic said a career in acting always felt like a fantasy, something he still can’t believe he now has the opportunity to do full – time.
“It’s very exciting and very daunting,” he said.
“There’s a lot of impostor syndrome going on.
“Being an actor was always a pipe dream, something not attainable for sure.”
Despite being a regular feature on the award-winning series – which has run for over three decades, Molyneux said he still has a “lot of learning to do.”
“I’m at a great place (to learn) which is Neighbours,” he said.
“I’ve got to work with actors now I really look up to.
“It is stressful (working alongside these actors) but you’re also honoured to be there standing on the shoulders of giants like Ryan Maloney.”
Molyneux made his film debut last month, starring as young Michael in Take My Hand, a movie based on a true story about the love life of writer and director John Raftopoulos and wife Claire Jensz.
“It’s such a great story and based on a true story,” he said.
“It’s an Australian made romantic drama based on a beautiful couple, like nobody has ever seen before.
“There are some beautiful locations (featured) and I think Australia is really going to like it.
It’s a movie for the whole family. There are not many movies like that these days.”
