MISS Universe Australia Olivia Rogers has good reason for being a Mo-Sista.

The 25-year-old speech pathologist has backed the annual Movember campaign, inspired by her father, who suffers from Bipolar.

“My dad is a doctor and his Bipolar doesn’t define him, that is the thing with mental illness, we have to talk about these things,” Rogers told Confidential.

“It is about being open and not embarrassed by it because it is not embarrassing. The more people we can get talking about mental health, the better.”

Movember is the annual fundraiser, held through the month of November, whereby men grow a moustache to raise money for various mens’ health issues, ranging from depression to prostate cancer.

Women are encouraged to become Mo Sista’s by getting involved by setting a goal of walking, running, swimming, cycling or another challenge to raise funds for men’s health.

“I obviously can’t grow a moustache but I can help raise awareness,” Rogers, a speech pathologies, said.

“Talking about these things is really important.”

Rogers will represent Australia at the Miss Universe beauty pageant next month in Las Vegas.
