WILL love blossom at the Channel 7 water cooler now that Michael Usher has joined Samantha Armytage’s team?

The former Channel 9 reporter starts his post at the rival network soon, barely a year after the pair went on a date that soured when Armytage took along her gay EP handbag Michael Pell.

Usher had received a nudge from long-time pal and budding matchmaker Natalie Barr suggesting he ask Armytage out on a date.

Things looked to be off to a good start with Armytage recommending the pair dine at her home — to escape paparazzi, we would later learn. But when Usher turned up to break bread with the unlucky-in-love Sunrise host, her producer Pell and his boyfriend Sam Rogers were there.

Now that the pair will be working together in the Martin Place office, might Armytage give the loveable newsman a second chance?

This week, Confidential revealed father-of-three Usher was leaving the embattled 60 Minutes show and heading to Seven.
