It’s on. It’s off. It’s … Michael Clarke appears to be doing all he can to win Jade Yarbrough back after his embarrassing Noosa incident in January.
Clarke is set to enjoy a European holiday with Yarbrough and a group of friends, including Sydney artist and socialite Dina Broadhurst.
The news comes after interior designer Yarbrough appeared in Stellar magazine detailing the challenging months she’d endured when it was made public Clarke had allegedly cheated on her with an ex.
In Stellar, she said: “This year has been so challenging dealing with everything, working my way through it all, healing and finding my feet again. I’ve realised actually what’s best is to just be focused on myself and my business for now.”
Yarbrough, 31, runs her own successful business, Merci Maison, and consults on residential and commercial styling and interior design.
“There’s no rule book for navigating constant headlines, public life and heartbreak,” she told Stellar.
“Relationships can be tough and complicated and most people don’t have theirs splashed on the front page of the paper or dissected on breakfast TV. I felt heartbroken, and deeply embarrassed. I just wanted to hide forever.”
She is understood to have flown to Dubai on Friday to oversee a work project there and will later join the group in France, where she and Clarke are expected to attend a Rugby World Cup game with their friends.
The group trip has been a long time in the planning.
Sources say Clarke has work commitments in London. Accountant to the stars Anthony Bell is also in France and Clarke is expected to spend time on his superyacht there.
Yarbrough is the younger sister of Jasmine Stefanovic, who is married to popular television journalist and host, Karl Stefanovic.
“Clarkey is desperate to win Jade back,” said one source close to the former Australian Cricket Captain.
“It has been a tough year – he knows he made a big mistake.”
Clarke and Yarbrough separated in January when a video of the pair embroiled in a heated spat in a public park in Noosa went viral.
The incident made headlines around the world and saw Clarke, 42, issue a grovelling apology after being accused of cheating with ex girlfriend, PE Nation fashion designer Pip Edwards.
“I accept full responsibility for this altercation and am shattered by my actions,” Clarke told the Telegraph in January.
“I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable. I am shattered that because of my actions I’ve drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation. I own this fully and am the only one at fault.”
Of the incident, Edwards said: “This is not my circus... I was blatantly lied to.”
In the months following the incident, Clarke was linked to Sydney socialite Rique Miroshnik, while Yarbrough spent time in the company of Hollywood actor and Vikings star Travis Fimmel.
Clarke was previously married to high school sweetheart, Kyly Clarke, with whom he has a young daughter.
