Meghan Markle’s brother says royal eyes are on Big Brother VIP

Thomas Markle Jr says he is “100 per cent” sure that his sister Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry will keep an eye on his appearance on Big Brother VIP.

Thomas Markle Jr expecting some V-VIPs have been tuning in to Australia’s latest bout of celebrity Big Brother.

The estranged brother of the Duchess of Sussex believes his half sister Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry are watching online from the United States, as will Queen Elizabeth from the UK.

“I think even the Queen will watch it,” Markle Jr told Confidential. “I am 100 per cent sure Meghan and Harry will watch it. One could only hope she would want to see how her brother is doing.”

Markle Jr, 55, is one of three international contestants on Channel 7’s Big Brother VIP that launched on Monday night.

Also on board are Caitlyn Jenner and Omarosa Manigault Newman, alongside Aussies including actor Bernard Curry and retired NRL player Matt Cooper.

Television ads promoting the series have heavily focused on Markle Jr’s damaged relationship with his half-sister.

“If Meghan does not want to make amends with me or my sister, Samantha, I surely hope she will find it in her heart somewhere to make amends with my father and let my father visit his grandkids,” he said.

“He has done everything humanly possible in the entire world her whole entire life and how she could treat him like this is just way beyond me. Nothing has been done that anybody can figure out that would warrant a total discommunication of your entire family. It is not only our family but it is all of Doria (Ragland, Meghan’s mother) family as well.”

If he came face-to-face with his sister, Markle Jr said: “At some point, somebody has to make the move and take the first steps to reconciliation. I would say: “Don’t you think enough is enough? The past is the past and tomorrow is a new day, it is never too late because you only have one family and I think we have all had a real rough time in the press and there is no reason for it.”

Markle Jr also took umbrage to his sister’s recent comments where she claimed in a ‘poverty letter’ to US politicians that she “grew up on $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler”.

“That is just the most asinine thing I’ve heard in my life,” he said.

“She made a point to put it out there saying we were so poor and that we had to go all eat at the Sizzler salad bar for dinner. The truth behind that is my father is not a cook so we would always go out to eat.

“The other restaurants that she would fail to mention would be Hamburger Hamlet, which is a pretty prestigious restaurant in Hollywood, Musso and Frank Grill, another very upscale restaurant.

“We use to eat at all of these places so I don’t know where she comes up with the reality that we ate only at the Sizzler salad bar, that is completely false. There is no reason to sucker punch anybody, it is just childish.”
