After blocking cricket great Shane Warne, reality star Jessika Power claims retired NRL player Sam Burgess reached out on social media.

It was around the time Burgess was going through a messy separation from ex-partner Phoebe, with whom he has two children.

“Sam Burgess was talking to me,” Power told Triple M Sydney’s Moonman in the Morning show. “Sam wanted to catch up and stuff, this was around the time he was going through his divorce. Realistically I don’t want to be involved in anything messy.”

Power is one of the celebrity contestants on Channel 7’s Big Brother VIP that launched Monday night.

Promo ads have focused on her exchange with Warne, whom she claimed ‘slid into her DMs (direct messages)’.

“I shut him down pretty fast,” the former Married At First Sight star said.

Speaking to Confidential in more detail, Power gave further information on her exchange with Warne.

Power made the revelation in a segment that will air on Big Brother tonight.

“The conversation was one you’d have with your friends down at the pub or in private,” she said. “I am guaranteeing you there will be more than that one shock, not just on the Shane Warne topic.”

Power said she no longer has any contact with Warne after blocking him on Instagram.

“Shane, he knows what he did, it was a little bit cheeky … but at the end of the day, he is a guy, he tried to shoot his shot and failed,” she said. “He hasn’t denied it so I don’t feel the need to constantly flag him out any more than he probably has been. There was a bit of back and forth there and me sort of explaining I wasn’t into it. He is a good sport. With this coming out, the reason he hasn’t responded to it is because he knows what was said, he knows that there is proof and I guess he just wants to move on.”

Meanwhile, on Triple M, Power responded to reports she was paid $30,000 for her appearance on the reality series alongside the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Bernard Curry and Matt Cooper.

“Let’s just say I got a lot more than the $30,000 that was in the media about me being angry about a price snub. I got paid way more than that.”
