Media personality Abbie Chatfield has posted a thinly-veiled jab at Home And Away star Sam Frost’s controversial decision not to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
The former Bachelor runner-up, who has led a social media campaign against anti-vaxxers, shared news of Channel 7’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate for all production staff on Instagram this week alongside a photo of Frost looking distressed with the caption, “Oop”.
Chatfield recently accused Frost of trying to “victimise” herself by claiming unvaccinated people are being subjected to “harsh judgment” and “segregation”.
She has rejected claims that she is “bullying” the Channel 7 actor.
The Seven Network recently announced that all production staff must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by January 10 after Frost went viral for refusing to get the jab.
“To provide the safest possible work environment for cast, crew and presenters, Seven Productions have made the decision to only engage those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, taking effect in January next year,” a statement read.
“Seven strongly encourages vaccination to protect our people, their colleagues and their families.”
Channel 7 previously confirmed that Frost, 32, will continue filming for Home And Away.
She has not specified the reason behind her decision not to get vaccinated.
Just last week, Frost returned to Instagram after the anti-vaccination blow up when she revealed she was struggling with mental health stemming from the “harsh judgment” and “segregation” that unvaccinated people are subjected to.
Confidential has today obtained a copy of the original post, which was deleted, and a comment from fellow Home And Away co-star Harley Bonner supporting Frost as “brave” for taking the stance.
“Brave Sammy,” he wrote. “It is pure insanity. Much love.”
Last month, she revealed that she was struggling with mental health after previously battling depression.
“I was really hesitant about even doing a video or speaking out about this sort of thing but I feel like it is getting to a point now in the world where there is a lot of segregation, there is a lot of harsh judgment and opinions being thrown around and it’s taking a toll on my mental health for sure,” she said on Instagram.
“I know people around me are struggling, particularly if they are on the side that they don’t want to get vaccinated for whatever reason. There are lots of different reasons why people are not getting vaccinated.
“I am not vaccinated and there is a reason why I am not. There are a few reasons why I am not. I have spoken to my doctors and my psychiatrist about it. That’s my decision.”
It’s unclear whether Frost has a medical exemption.
“It is a really hard time to be in society now and you feel like you are less of a human and you feel like people judge you and you are too scared to talk about your opinion or talk about your feelings,” she said.
“There are good reasons why I am not but I don’t want you to judge me. “It is going to be a really hard time when the vaccinated are allowed out to do things … and because I have made a choice. I think it is really important during that time for people like myself to look after their mental health.”
