LOVE Island winner Grant Crapp has confessed he feared losing Tayla Damir when she found out about his girlfriend outside the show.
Almost two weeks on from the finale, Crapp said he regrets lying to Damir.
“It was a hard thing to do, one of my fears is obviously losing Tayla. I love the girl with all my heart,” he told Confidential.
“It was tough … with the girl before I was never in a committed relationship. That girl knew I wasn’t in a committed relationship.”
The Canberra electrician said he had been in an “on-and-off” relationship for a year before he entered the show.
“I should have (told Tayla earlier) but in saying that I wasn’t sure what was going to happen if I was to tell her that,” he said.
“To be honest with you … I never thought that I was in a relationship … it was never in that Facebook official kind of thing. I think it’s been blown out of the water to be honest. Right now I’m focusing on myself and Tayla … I want me and her to be good.”
Crapp’s girlfriend wasn’t the only secret that was revealed about him on the show.
Fellow islanders were also surprised to find out he is a private investigator.
“I’m also a private investigator … a lot of people don’t believe me,” he said.
“(I’ve been) doing it for a few years … Tayla didn’t believe me but then when I pulled out my licence she was like ‘What the hell’.”
But Crapp said it’ll be difficult to maintain the job with his growing popularity.
“I’m not going to be able to do it any time soon,” Crapp said.
“Social influencing is my main goal … I’d do fitness, protein supplements, anything like that.”
The 22-year-old said he is looking forward to moving in with Damir and the couple have resorted to date nights in their hotel room to avoid the paparazzi.
