Love Island promo starring sexy singles are just paid actors and not the actual cast going to Spain

THEY’RE hot, fit, frisky and ready to take flight — but Confidential can reveal there is a slight problem after seeing the ripped men and women board Sophie Monk’s plane in the Channel 9 promo.

Sophie Monk announces she will host 'Love Island'

THEY’RE hot, fit, frisky and ready to take flight — only the sexy young singles boarding Sophie Monk’s plane in the new Love Island promo aren’t headed for Spain at all.

Confidential can reveal the ripped men and women who feature in the new ad for the Channel 9 show and are splashed on the program’s official Facebook page are paid actors and models.

So the fireman, fitness instructor and long-haired Lothario pictured stripping
off on the plane and having their passport stamped on a beach won’t be appearing on the show.

A Nine spokesman confirmed the “beautiful, sexy singles” boarding the private jet with Monk to the show’s exclusive villa in Majorca are fakes.

“The promo does not feature the actual cast of Love Island — they’re models and actors,” the spokesman said.

“But they are indicative of how good-looking the cast of the series will be.”

Over 7000 people applied to be on the show, which has taken the UK by storm and, locally, became the second-highest streamed season in 9Now’s history.

Casting will stay open throughout the series, with new “Islanders” entering the villa throughout, offering the opportunity for fans to take part. Confidential understands that while some of the cast may be mildly “Insta-famous”, the show will not feature celebrities.

That includes controversial Married At First Sight villain Davina Rankin, who was rumoured to be joining the cast.

Rankin has this week stepped out with a new man, cafe owner Jaxon Manuel, but Nine refused to confirm Rankin would not feature on the show.

“Casting for Love Island is still taking place, and we’re looking forward to introducing a group of fresh, new faces for Australians to fall in love with,” the spokesman said.

“We will have the hottest cast on TV finding love in Majorca enjoying the steamy Spanish weather.”

The show has been described as Bachelor In Paradise meets Big Brother, with singles forced to “couple-up” based on first impressions.

Over the course of the six-week series, they have to “re-couple” at different stages, either choosing to remain as a couple, or swap and change with another couple. As people are steadily eliminated, one couple will remain and be named as the winners, with the winning couple given a sum of money at the end, “to start their new lives together”.

But there’s a catch. One of them is given the choice to either share the money or walk away with it all for themselves — forcing them to answer the ultimate question of what’s better: falling in love or falling into a huge lump of cash?

Love Island also gives power to the public, getting the public to vote on who they think is most compatible, forcing the Islanders to prove the authenticity of their connection. Whichever couple gets the least votes risks getting eliminated.
