Former Miss World Australia Erin Holland and model and new dad Kris Smith were among a cavalcade of royalty, sports stars and celebrities at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo on the Gold Coast.

Former Miss World Australia Erin Holland and model and new dad Kris Smith were among a cavalcade of royalty, sports stars and celebrities at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo on the Gold Coast on Sunday.

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall and former England rugby player husband Mike flew in for the event, which launches the week-long The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival.

On the polo field Argentinian star Nacho Figueras and wife Delfina Blacquier, who Gwyneth Paltrow called an “amazing” woman, were joined by jockeys Hugh Bowman, Tommy Berryand Corey Brown.

Also playing were retired Melbourne Storm and Queensland State of Origin captain Billy Slaterand his wife Nicole. The pair met at pony club as teenagers.

“There was a pretty good ratio of girls to boys so I got a good one,” Slater laughed.

Magic Millions co-owners Katie Page and Gerry Harvey were joined in the VIP marquee by old pal John Singleton.

Swimming legend Dawn Fraser, a keen rider in her youth, said: “I would love to have a go at the polo but I think I really need to settle down.”
Earlier in the day, a pre-polo brunch was held at The Star’s Nineteen bar and restaurant overlooking the Gold Coast.
