Lisa Wilkinson has lashed out at her former employer, Channel 9, accusing the network of a “low act” over a misleading online article.
Wilkinson took to Twitter after the network’s digital arm, 9Honey, published an article titled How I Discovered My Step-Daughter Hates Me, with the first sentence making reference to “my husband Peter”, and an old video of former Today show hosts Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic talking about parenting at the top of it.
Clearly concerned that the article appeared as if it were about her, The Project host took to Twitter, writing: “Come on @Channel9 This is a low act. I’m used to it from rotten online scammers & the weekly trash mags, but you should be better than this.”

In a second tweet, Wilkinson shared a screenshot of the article and wrote: “Just to set the #fakenews record straight, I have been happily married to my husband @Peter_Fitz for almost 27 years, and I don’t have a stepdaughter called Tia who hates me. But I do hope to see you all at 6.30pm tonight @theprojecttv on @Channel10AU.”
A Nine spokesperson said: “The story is about the author’s parenting issues, not about anyone else, and the video is an old parenting clip with Lisa and Karl and clearly titled How Modern Parenting Has Changed Over The Years.”
Wilkinson quit Nine after 10 years in 2017, jumping ship to host The Sunday Project on rival network Channel 10.
