Former Real Housewives of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield is single again after splitting from businessman boyfriend James Laws.
The ex wife of former One Nation politician David Oldfield shared the news in a since deleted post on Instagram, flushing a diamond ring Laws gave her down the toilet in a dramatic video.
When contacted, Oldfield confirmed the pair had broken up in July.
“We broke up a few months ago,” she said. “These mixed marriages don’t work. He is from the eastern suburbs (of Sydney) and I am from the Northern Beaches and I need to be close to my boys.”
It is a sharp turnaround from previously declaring the pair would get married in 2020.
Oldfield and Laws, who she affectionately dubbed Jimbo on social media, went public with their romance in March 2019 when she described her new beau as “a keeper” to Confidential.
She and her ex-husband had been married for 18 years when they split at the end of 2018.
There have been rumours of a marriage proposal from Laws for some time, sparked by Oldfield sharing an image of a Tanzanite ring he gifted her. At the time, she told Confidential she was still officially married to her ex.
“I’d expect much bigger than that,” she joked of the ring. “Seriously, the best birthday present is getting to wake up next to James each morning. He could put a calamari ring on my finger and I’d be happy.”
Oldfield and Laws, who shared passions for golf, swimming and tennis, met through friends.
Regarding her ex husband, she has previously told Confidential that they keep their relationship amicable for the sake of their sons, Bert and Harry.
“We are working together to try and make sure the boys are happy and healthy,” she said.
“I have moved on, he has moved on and I wish him all the best. It was really sad because for 15 years he was my best friend but for the last three years it wasn’t a happy time for either of us. He is the father of my kids and certainly any animosity I felt for him pales in comparison to the love we both feel for the boys.”
