It has taken a few months butt model mum Jesinta Franklin has learned the importance of taking time for herself as a new mother.
“I am not great at it but I am trying to get better,” she said.
The 29-year-old and her AFL star husband Lance “Buddy” Franklin are parents to seven-month-old daughter Tullulah.
With COVID-19 forcing professional athletes into a bubble to be able to compete, Swans star Buddy has just returned home after seven weeks away from his family.
While taking time out for herself is important, Franklin also believes she and Buddy need to make time for themselves as a couple.
“In those first few months there really is no time for yourself, you really become very dedicated naturally to your child and all of their needs because they are so dependent on you,” explained Franklin.

“Now she is not so dependent on me, finding that time for myself is really important to look after yourself because otherwise your life becomes taken over by running the household and being a mum.”
She and her husband are working with luxury hotel resort Crown to announce its amenities partnership with Grown Alchemist ahead of the property opening in Sydney in December. It is a huge coup for the boutique beauty brand, which Crown hopes will expose the Australian company to a much larger market.
Franklin has in the past spoken openly about the fact she struggled to fall pregnant with her daughter. The couple would like to have another child if possible.
“We would love to give Tullulah a brother or a sister but I think for us now it is just about enjoying her,” she said.
“It took so long, I think by the end, it ended up being four years from the time we started trying to welcoming her. It was a four-year journey so I would totally be okay if it was just Tullulah because we love her so much and we dreamt and wished for her for so long.”
