Heartbreak High reboot cast on bringing progressive diversity for a new generation

It was a grey day in Bondi yesterday but that didn’t dim Heartbreak High actor Ayesha Madon’s sunny outlook on life.

The 26-year-old star has been showing off her singing skills at the South by Southwest festival (SXSW) in Sydney this week ahead of the release of a new single next month.

The performer teased other works in the pipeline, including a mysterious “bigger project” she is filming at the moment.

Anyone else would be overwhelmed by the pace and volume of such a busy lifestyle but Madon said it allowed her to find balance in her work.

“I think they really fuel each other. I’ve been so privileged over the last few years to incorporate the acting and the music and kind of blend them from an artistry point of view and create artistic unity,” Madon said. “I feel like this sounds unhealthy and I don’t want to endorse this, but I do feel like I require less breaks because I don’t mind moving from one discipline to the next. I don’t get burnt out that way, it just keeps me refreshed and inspired and interested in what I’m doing.

“I feel like a lot of the time when you continue to do the same thing over and over again, for me, I get really, really restless.”

Madon is currently collaborating with Nescafe as an ambassador but fans of the popular Netflix series will need to wait a little longer for details on the third and final series, slated for a late 2025 release.
