IN her heyday she was one of the most divisive cricket WAGS. Now Kyly Clarke could be making a return to the stands.

After Mrs Clarke’s departure in 2015, it is understood there has been a more harmonious atmosphere among the cricketers’ wives and girlfriends.

For several seasons now it has been “united” and “relaxed” on the WAG front, with all the partners getting along, led by then-captain Steve Smith’s fiancee Dani Willis and Candice Warner.

That is in contrast to the years when Michael Clarke was captain and Kyly was “Queen WAG”.

At the time it was reported that Mrs Clarke’s alleged behaviour had upset the other WAGs.

The tension spilt over during the 2015 Ashes, with Mrs Clarke’s penchant for tipping off the paparazzi about where she would be — including a WAG dinner held by Darren Lehmann — annoying some partners.

A WAG who toured with her in 2015 claimed she “walks around like she runs the show”.

Since her husband’s retirement her focus has shifted. Mrs Clarke has had a baby, Kelsey Lee, and has also focused on building her candle business.

But with Smith and Warner stood down and Clarke eyeing a return, some in the WAG camp are wondering what effect it may have.

Michael and Kyly Clarke go back to where it all began

An unnamed former WAG told Woman’s Day some of the woman are “holding their breath and hoping the Clarkes — albeit that Michael is a great player and a reasonable captain — don’t make the comeback that’s been speculated”.
