Kate Ritchie offended by memoir proposal

Kate Ritchie has ruled out writing an autobiography, saying she’s glad she didn’t do it when she was first approached years ago.

Unlike many of her celebrity contemporaries, Kate Ritchie has ruled out writing an autobiography.

Speaking to Confidential she was adamant a book about herself is not on the cards.

“That is just not something I can see myself doing,” the mother-of-one said.

The Kate, Tim and Marty host revealed she was approached to write one when she played Sally Fletcher on Home and Away.

“I am so glad that I did not agree to do a memoir back when I was approached years ago,” Ritchie said.

“It was a bit insulting.

“I was in my early twenties and I remember thinking, I think I still have a bit to do.”

Despite her refusal to write a book about herself, the 37-year-old can call herself an author regardless, having recently released her first children’s book, I Just Couldn’t Wait To Meet You.

The star told Confidential she put the story together while she was pregnant with her first child with husband Stuart, daughter Mae.
