Best known for her long-running role on Home And Away and for co-hosting the drivetime Kate, Tim & Marty show on Nova, Kate Ritchie last year added author to her resume with her first children’s book, I Just Couldn’t Wait to Meet You, inspired by her daughter, Mae. The hardest working item in my wardrobe is ... My brassiere followed by my Springcourts.

My most recent purchase was... A pair of black feathered silk fan-like earrings from Melissa Harris Fine Jewellery for no particular reason other than I loved them and it was a Tuesday. I now have my eye on the honey pot pendant and a birthday just around the corner…

The wardrobe I wish I could raid belongs to... Most definitely Eva Galambos. But really, I’ll take anyone who has their wardrobe in order, especially if it’s colour coded, style divided and sans wire coat hangers. Mine is an absolute disgrace.

I buy shoes over bags because… Because it means I can buy more.

My make-up MVP is... A good mascara because it helps to open up the most tired and puffiest of eyes.

When I have a bad hair day, I fix it by... Having someone else do it. Years spent in the make-up chair have left me spoilt/talentless when it comes to styling. Thankfully, I do love a ponytail and a ponytail loves me.

My signature scent is... Chanel No. 5.

My morning routine involves… Carefully negotiating wardrobe options with a two-year-old and planning a radio show for later that afternoon. I can assure you one is a far tougher task than the other.

I order coffee over tea... And then wish I hadn’t.

My comfort food go-to is... Tinned sardines on toast, olive oil, salt and loads of lemon.

Kate likes nothing more than a bit of tinned sardines on toast.

My favourite Sydney spot is… Nielson Park.

I’m a regular at… Home. But in my fantasy life it would be Catalina by day and Ester by night.

My party trick is… In the good old days it was flaming sambucas. These days it’s not feeling guilty about slipping away quietly without a goodbye.

I’m currently binge watching... I am not a binge watcher. Not because I don’t like the idea of it but because on most days I struggle to get the television to work, let alone schedule a viewing line-up. I would love to be watching Big Little Lies, Game Of Thrones and The Handmaid’s Tale. But instead it’s currently back to back Play School which, don’t get me wrong, is wonderful when you score Alex Papps and Justine Clarke side by side!

The young mum is a fan of Play School hosts Justine Clarke and Alex Papps.

I’m Instagram stalking... Loads of accounts I won’t tell you about so as not to blow my cover and the rest are inspo for next year’s big birthday… @leadinghotelsoftheworld @cntraveler @smallluxuryhotels @luxurytravelau etc. etc.

I’m listening to… Ben Abraham and Kate Winslet narrating The Magic Faraway Tree.

My favourite app is… ABC KIDS iview

My favourite Friday night in involves… A scotch on the rocks in the bath and a cuddle in bed.

My five, real or fictional, dream dinner party guests… Judy Nunn, Bruce Venables, the Duchess of Cambridge, Isla Fisher and Sherree Black.

If my life had a hashtag, it would be... #tryingtosilencetheinnerdialogue
