KATE Ritchie has narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction — not on a red carpet but in the desert.
The actress and radio host found herself in a precarious position perched on the back of a camel, for a photo opportunity during a pit stop at Alice Springs while on board The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin yesterday.
“Next time I will be opting for denim and a long sleeve shirt with boots despite the heat,” the former Home And Away star told Confidential.
“I am a well practised camel rider, although for someone who has done it before I didn’t particularly think my outfit through.
“Next time I won’t be putting a frock on.”

Ritchie and her Kate, Tim and Marty drive co-hostsTim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold have spent the past three days broadcasting on board the train as they made their way through
the desert.
The experience ticks off a bucket list item for Sheargold and means the trio have now broadcast from a plane, train and car in the three-and-a-half years they’ve been a trio on air.
“What has been the most amazing thing is being out there with no phone reception and no contact with the outside world,”
she said.
