Kate Ritchie’s husband Stuart Webb cannot approach or be in the company of his wife “for at least 12 hours after drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs”, according to the terms of a police-issued temporary AVO.
The Daily Telegraph has seen a copy of the temporary apprehended violence orders issued against Webb after an incident on involving Nova radio host on Thursday with the former footballer to appear in court this week.
The court document is separated into two separate areas covering orders of behaviour and orders about contact.
“The defendant must not do any of the following to Katherine Leigh RITCHIE, or anyone she has a domestic relationship with: A. assault or threaten her, B. stalk, harass or intimidate her, and C. intentionally or recklessly destroy or damage any property that belongs to or is in the possession of Katherine Leigh RITCHIE.”
A fourth point covered orders about contact.
“The defendant must not approach or be in the company of Katherine Leigh RITCHIE for at least 12 hours after drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs,” it read.
A NSW Police spokesman yesterday confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that no charges had been laid against Webb, 39. Police are still “investigating an incident at a home in Randwick on Thursday”.
The spokesman said the investigation was ongoing.
Former NRL star Webb has been listed for mention to face Waverly Local Court on Thursday.
The listing states the AVO is being applied for by a Constable Dean Hodges for Katherine Leigh Ritchie against Stuart Broughton Webb.
Despite the ongoing personal issues, Ritchie, who has a four-year-old daughter with Webb, was all smiles as she attended the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Brisbane on Saturday.
She was however not wearing her wedding ring at the awards but was photographed arriving at Sydney airport yesterday wearing her diamond sparkler.
For years Ritchie and Webb’s relationship had been subject to scrutiny in the tabloid magazines and newspapers, however it is understood that strain had been placed on their relationship following Webb being charged with drink driving back in April.
Webb was charged with drink driving while his licence was suspended after he was pulled over by police after allegedly running a red light near the home he shares with Ritchie. He is yet to enter a plea.
At the awards on Saturday, Ritchie spoke about her love of the radio industry and how she felt accepted in the field.
“I suppose I feel much more at ease and less like a visitor than I used to,” she said. “It was obviously the right choice all those years ago and I suppose it is nice to reflect on that sometimes and give yourself a pat on the back rather than just seeing it as a fluke.”
Ritchie, who has two Gold Logie Awards to her name for playing Sally Fletcher on Home and Away, said she’s keen to get back into acting.
“It (acting) is not a niggling thing in the back of my mind, it is just who I am. I still see myself as an actress and there is probably an element of what I do every day in radio that makes me a brilliant actress,” she said. “What I would really like to do is hold out for a great role in a serious drama but for now I will just continue watching them.”
