WHILE Australia is focused on news presenter Amber Sherlock, being the victim of Thursday’s leaked newsroom video rant over clashing colours could be career gold for Channel 9’s Julie Snook.

As Sherlock attempts to keep her reputation intact after fashion faux pas footage leaked of her diva-like spat, Snook — the victim of the outburst — is receiving applause, with industry experts saying this could make her a star.

Media commentator James Manning said this situation could be positive for Snook.

“This could absolutely be a positive for her career, a lot people might not have known her before this,” Manning said.

“It certainly won’t hurt at all.”

Another industry insider said that Snook’s star was already on the rise and her cool nature under pressure would be commended at the network.

“Julie has been a favourite at the station for a while with some pegging her for big things in the future,” the insider said.

“She is definitely one to watch and this has put her face out there.”

The well-liked Snook started her career as a print journalist in central NSW before moving to Canberra and then on to Sydney.

Yesterday Nine was in the thick of an investigation about how the footage of the pair clashing over the fact both were wearing white — alongside guest psychologist Sandy Rea — was leaked.

Insiders told The Saturday Telegraph Channel 9 believed a producer/editor was at the centre of the clip going viral.

“There were only a few people who had the skills to take the content and compress the file to be shared,” the insider said.
