JESSICA Todd dates one of the most recognisable men in the AFL, and a favourite for tomorrow night’s Brownlow, but the long-term partner of Melbourne’s bearded ruckman, Max Gawn, doesn’t get caught up in the celebrity of the sport.
When Todd, 27, who grew up in Ballarat, attends her second Brownlow tomorrow night, the physiotherapist will get up at 6am, not to start her beauty preparation, but to go to work for a few hours before she gets red carpet-ready.

“I definitely get a bit nervous on Brownlow night because it not my normal life,” she says.
“I just try to have fun and it’s all to support Max … plus you can’t really complain about having an excuse to have someone do your hair and makeup,” she laughs.
While Todd says she is excited and proud of Melbourne’s finals campaign, she admits she is fed up with Gawn’s trademark whiskers.
“I don’t love the beard at the moment,” she laughs.
“It’s gotten a bit out of control, but it’s a superstitious thing.”
Todd says that Gawn, one of the favourites for tomorrow night’s best and fairest count, has “a good chance” of winning, but that the night will be about “celebrating his year whether he wins or not.”
Todd will wear a dress by Melbourne couture designer Georgia Young, with Young giving away all of the five dresses she has designed for this year’s Brownlow after the event to fans of the football fashion on social media.
