JESSICA Gomes has weighed in on the Harvey Weinstein scandal, saying women in Hollywood have finally found their voice.
“I think we’re being really empowered and taking a stand for certain things, and I think it’s really amazing,” the model said at the launch of Jets’ Spring/Summer 2018 swimwear campaign.
“I think it’s a really great time to be in Hollywood for women because we’ve been given a platform to have a voice.”
Gomes, who is set to appear in upcoming Hollywood film Father Figures alongside Owen Wilson, flew into Sydney this week as a special guest of the Australian swimwear brand, of which she is the latest face.
“This is actually my first swimwear campaign in Australia,” Gomes revealed.
“Isn’t that weird? And I’m such a swimsuit girl, with Sports Illustrated. So it was really amazing. It was perfect timing because I was ready, Jets was ready and we came together and thought, this makes sense, let’s do it.”
Gomes has clocked up more than 1000 hours in the air in recent years due to her hectic travel schedule.
“It works out to be about 45 days on a plane,” she said.
The David Jones ambassador said she and boyfriend, actor Xavier Samuel were “great”.
“He just shot a great film here in Sydney called Riot … it’s about all the ‘70s gay riots. But we’re really great; we’ve been helping each other with self-tapes (auditions),” she said.
