Jessica Gomes says the future is looking bright for David Jones
After a rocky few years, the future of David Jones is looking bright as they prepare to open an additional three floors to its mammoth nine-level Elizabeth St location and give shoppers a preview into the new spring/summer collection.

Whether it’s their new collection or their business forecast, model Jessica Gomes says it’s all looking bright for David Jones.
The department store giant is set to open three more floors of its mammoth nine-level Elizabeth St location this month and is previewing its spring/summer 2019 collection at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday.

However, it has been a rocky few years for the franchise, which was taken over by South African owner Woolworths in 2014, losing four CEOs in less than five years amid a current sluggish retail climate.
But Gomes, an ambassador for the company since 2013, says it will prevail by providing the quality and luxury they are known for.
“The future is looking really bright at David Jones,” the 34-year-old said.
“We have a new store opening; there are so many things happening and I’m so excited to preview the spring/summer preview at the Sydney Opera House.
“I think that they are on their own individual path and they’re focusing on what they do best, which is bringing an experience to the customers.”
Gomes will model the collection at the Opera House alongside Victoria Lee, Tom Derickx, Emma Boyd and Dilone.
