Jessica and James reunite for their daughter

It’s happy families for Aussie actress Jessica Marais and ex-husband James Stewart, who have reunited for their daughter’s birthday.

The formerly engaged couple slapped on a smile to wish their girl Scout a happy fourth birthday.

“Happy Birthday my sweet little Scout... you are all my reasons. Love Dad” James wrote alongside a picture posted to Instagram.

Putting aside their differences to celebrate Scout’s special day, Jessica, 31 and James, 40, seem to be happy in their new lives following their split last May after spending six years together.

Fans were shocked when the pair, who met on Seven’s drama Packed To The Rafters, broke up, but Jessica and James have always been adamant that putting their daughter first is a priority.

“Jessica Marais and James Stewart have amicably separated,” read a statement released upon their breakup, going on to say, “their main focus at this time is the co-parenting of their daughter.”

Since then Jessica has been cast in The Wrong Girl, which is based on Zoe Foster Blake’s best-selling book, and recently won the TV Week Silver Logie for Best Actress in the hit TV series Love Child last week.

It looks as though former fiance James has moved on too, with a new role on Home and Away and pictures surfacing on social media of the star getting cosy with pretty blonde Jessica Nook.
