Model Jesinta Franklin will today celebrate being a mother for the first time.

Like most new parents, Franklin and her husband, AFL star Buddy, have experienced the struggles of welcoming a new child into the world. But the Olay ambassador said the time and effort it took to bring their firstborn Tallulah into the world was all worth it.

“That’s what makes the more challenging days easier to get through,” she told Sunday Confidential.

“She is an absolute miracle because it was so challenging for us. I have kind of, not forgotten about it, but the memory of what we went through has kind of disappeared. A lot of the hurt and pain has subsided. It was really hard so it has made us so grateful. Every time we look at her we just think all the hurt was worth it.

“That was the first thing I said when she was put on my chest. I said: ‘We waited so long for you … and you are perfect and we love you’.”

While many parents find the world of parenthood challenging and unexpected, Franklin said having longed for Tallulah for so long and having read so many books, she knew what to be prepared for when her daughter was finally born.

The only thing she couldn’t prepare for was the love she felt when Tallulah arrived.

“The unexpected thing is no one can ever explain to you the love you will feel for your baby until you have them in your arms and you look at them,” she said.

“That feeling is all-encompassing, it is like nothing else. It is more than love. I don’t even know how to explain it. I have never experienced anything like it before.

“It is protection, it is awe, it is loyalty. It is all these things and you just get hit with it.”

It is believed Jesinta and Buddy will take a similar approach to NRL player Cooper Cronk and wife Tara Rushton when it comes to protecting the privacy of their daughter, shielding her from the public eye.

“For us having a healthy, happy little human is the most important thing,” she said.

KRUGER’S RENOS GET THE GO-AHEAD

There may be a worse time to start a highly contentious million-dollar renovation — but it’s hard to imagine one.

Scaffolding has gone up at the home of Sonia Kruger and partner Craig McPherson, three years after the couple first flagged their intentions to make more than $1 million of modifications to their stunning cliffside abode.

This is despite the virus lockdown and with both forced to take 20 per cent pay cuts as employer Channel 7 slashes and burns its budget.

The couple’s first attempt at renovation was derailed by a handful of objections from neighbours, forcing them to settle for merely adding a pool.

However McPherson this week confirmed that, after some lengthy alterations to their original development application to Mosman Council, work has finally begun on major structural changes to the top floor.

McPherson, Seven’s head of news and current affairs, said the project was given the green light “well before” COVID-19.

He, along with Kruger and all of Seven’s executive ranks, copped a 20 per cent pay cut to their salaries on April 1, for the rest of this financial year.

“Had (COVID-19) happened before we decided to go ahead … there’s no way we would have done it,” McPherson said. “It’s possibly the worst time to be doing anything like this. But we started the process six months ago and it’s too late to go back.”

Kruger and McPherson purchased the $6.5 million mansion, overlooking Balmoral Beach, in 2015.

Plans for renovations in 2017 drew protests from neighbours, who complained the changes would obstruct their beach views. There were also concerns a communal driveway might be affected.

McPherson said that after extensive modifications, the renovation is now “ridgy didge”.

“Our builder is … in regular communication with our neighbours and we just really want to do the right thing by everyone,” McPherson said. “The last thing we want to do is create any issues.”

Kruger, lured from Channel 9 to Seven in November, is currently filming Big Brother, set to air in June.

KERR’S ANTI-VAX FACEBOOK FRENZY

Therese Kerr has been a busy woman.

The mother of international model Miranda Kerr was a mother on a mission on Saturday, posting 27 anti-vax, coronavirus conspiracy and anti 5G articles on Facebook in just six short hours.

Kerr, who is a huge fan and follower of Pete Evans, anti-vaxxer Robert F Kennedy Jr and American alternative-health guru and anti-vaccination campaigner David “Avocado” Wolfe, made her stance on the contentious vaccination debate clear with two dozen plus ‘shares’ of articles from questionable websites.

While in the past she has slammed the anti-vax title claiming, “I am not anti vax as the media always portrays me out to be”, it looks like Kerr has changed her tune and is now well and truly off the fence and fiercely against vaccinations.
