AFL golden couple Jesinta Franklin and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin are happier than ever ahead of their third wedding anniversary next month.
The pregnant model was glowing at the Everest Ladies’ Breakfast in Sydney on Thursday and she told Confidential that her miracle pregnancy has brought them closer.
“I just feel so lovey and happy at the moment, I think because of all the pregnancy hormones,” she said.
“I think that the challenges that we went through have strengthened our relationship and made us more appreciative of what’s happening. We’re obviously really happy and excited at the moment, feeling very loved up.”

In August, the couple announced that they’re expecting their first child together after trying to conceive for several years.
The pregnancy news was a welcome celebration for Franklin, 28, who previously said “there had been losses along the way” in their journey to conceive.
She also suffered health struggles and revealed earlier this year that she had colon polyps removed after learning she carries the same ‘cancer gene’ as her mother Valerie.
She admits she’s nervous about giving birth.
“I’m trying not to look too much at the internet. The only aim for me is to have a healthy baby … I’d love to have a natural birth but things can arise but yeah I am nervous,” she said.
“We were trying for years and years, I thought it was important to speak about it because I know a lot of women and couples who struggle. It’s not something that’s openly talked about, there’s a big stigma around it so if I can share my journey then hopefully I can give someone else hope.”
The couple will start building their baby nursery soon as they prepare to become parents for the first time.
Franklin is just over halfway in her pregnancy and while she struggled in her first trimester, she said it’s now smooth-sailing.
“I actually feel really good. The first three months or 15 weeks were really really rocky but yeah no cravings — the hunger has died down and I’ve got more energy,” she said.
There’s no slowing down for the busy mum-to-be, who has maintained her active lifestyle throughout the pregnancy.
“So I’ve had to change things up a little bit, so not as high intensity — I’m just doing Pilates 3-4 times a week and walking so just focused on that for now and once baby comes I really look forward to getting back into the boxing ring and doing kickboxing again,” she said.
“I’m sure I could still do it but with me and some of the complications I’ve had, I just think I’m going to take things easy and be really gentle.”
The Franklins are keeping the baby’s gender a secret until after the birth, and as for what they will name the bub — she said they will likely not follow the wave of unusual celebrity baby names.
“We haven’t thought about baby names, we have no idea. I feel like it’s really hard, here’s a name that you’re going to give a child for the rest of their lives and you have to think — I don’t want too crazy a name. I’m sure something will come to us when we see the little one,” she said.
The media personality is set to attend Australia’s richest race, The Everest, at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
“The thing that I love the most about racing is the fact that it brings a lot of people together and it’s a really fantastic fashion event so for me it’s more about the fashion than the sporting side of it,” she said.
