The incestuous reality TV cycle continues with Bachelor alumni Jarrod Woodgate and Sam Royce now being spotted together.
Woodgate, from Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, and Royce, from the latest season of The Bachelor with Matt Agnew, were spotted adventuring together on the weekend.
Royce, 29, uploaded a series of videos on her Instagram featuring Woodgate, 32, as they walked bush trail together.
Royce captioned the videos “what a way to start the day” and on another video of Woodgate on a swing, she wrote “Just a big kid”. Confidential contacted both Royce and Woodgate for comment on their relationship — whether it was platonic or romantic and if they knew each other before their TV appearances.
Neither wished to comment personally however Woodgate’s manager Shane Tyler Greaves said they met in Bali.
“Jarrod and Sam recently met in Bali and developed a friendship overseas,” he said. “While they are friends, I can confirm they are not romantically linked.”
Woodgate gained infamy on Monk’s season of The Bachelorette by being a stage five clinger and gifting her with a pot plant, which season villain Blake Coleman then urinated in.
He then had a second shot at reality TV love on Bachelor in Paradise, where he attempted to pair with Ali Oetjen and Simone Ormesher before he ended up with “villain” Keira Maguire.
The two entered an on-again, off-again relationship for about 18 months.
Royce was on the most recent season of The Bachelor with Agnew, but blink and you would have missed her — she came and went on night two.
When she was eliminated, she posted an extraordinary rant on her Instagram claiming she was only selected to be on the show because she was beautiful — which she said was purely genetics — and that the show did not portray how intelligent she was.
“Unfortunately on any reality show, the focus is usually on what you look like, rather than the type of person you are,” she wrote to her 1000 followers. “I have been receiving an overwhelming amount of compliments on my looks from friends, family and complete strangers. While all of this is extremely flattering, it doesn’t sit well with me. I have absolutely NO control over what I look like. My eye colour, my hair colour, my skin colour, my height, my predisposed body shape and my facial structure is purely genetics.”
Their relationship, whatever it is, is the latest in a long string of reality TV hopefuls hooking up with someone that was not intended for them, including Mick Gould (MAFS) and Kayla Gray (Bachelor), Jessika Power (MAFS) and Nick Furphy (MAFS) and Apollo Jackson (Bachelorette) and Edyn Mackney (Love Island).
