Decade of skinny jeans if over as flares and bell-bottoms in bright and bold colours are in

Bright and bold flare trends are taking off, replacing the skinny jean which has dominated for the past decade.

Fashion fad fails

Time machines have not been invented yet, but the bold, bright flares trends will have you thinking otherwise.

Nik Shimmin has run Flare Street for six years so the bell-bottoms are nothing new to her, but she says each year she sees them become more and more popular — for all genders.

“It’s only going to get bigger,” she told Confidential.

“Skinny jeans have been in for a decade, flares carry a real individual style.

“They look really great on curvy girls but girls with no butts look just as great.

“Flare Street is for every gender, but guys usually go for larger sizes and darker colours.”

If you had flares from the ‘70s, or your parents did, it might be time to dig them out.
