It was a short-lived fairytale romance for Kyly Clarke and James Courtney.
Friends of the couple have confirmed to The Sunday Telegraph that Clarke has called time on the relationship with the champion V8 supercar driver.
It has been less than six weeks since the pair went public with their relationship as Clarke ventured trackside to support Courtney at the Bathurst 1000.
It is understood that with Courtney based in Queensland and Clarke in Sydney, long distance simply didn’t work, especially with the added pressure of COVID-19 restrictions over recent months.
Clarke and Courtney actually first dated 20 years ago after meeting through friends and family.
Her family are passionate go-karters while Courtney raced at the same club as her brother, Troy, when she was a child.
Clarke first met Courtney when she was just 11 years old and the pair got in touch again recently through social media.
In October, a friend said: “They just clicked when they reconnected and everything is going well. It is like a fairytale because they were together all those years ago so it has come full circle.”
The relationship came after Clarke split from husband of seven years, cricket great Michael, last year. He is now dating socialite and fashion designer Pip Edwards.
Courtney, meanwhile, separated from his wife, Carys, with whom he has a son and a daughter, three years ago.
He dated Melbourne marketing manager Alexandra Elms before getting in touch with Clarke.
Last month, Clarke and Courtney shared several images on social media as they enjoyed time together in northern NSW.
At the time, just like Bennifer and Kimye, they jokingly debuted a hybrid celebrity nickname as they captioned the images with their joint name “Jaly”.
“So many reasons to smile,” Clarke, 39, wrote in one caption.
“The laughter never stops.” Courtney referred to “The #Jaly Northern NSW tour” in his posts.
The last images both shared of each other to social media was November 15.
Clarke would not comment when contacted.
