AT the end of the last film, James Bond was right on form ... rescuing his love interest just as the credits rolled.

At the start of the new one he will be in a state of marital bliss, it is claimed.

It appears 007 not only wooed Dr Madeleine Swann, played by Lea Seydoux, in Spectre but wed her as well.

After Daniel Craig confirmed he would reprise his role for his fifth instalment as the British super spy, leaks from Hollywood about the plot for the film dubbed “Bond 25” claim the spy’s life will be dramatically different.

A source told US entertainment column Page Six that, as the next film opens, Bond and Dr Swann are embarking on married life.

“Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married,” the source said, before adding that “his wife then gets killed”, causing him to spring back into action.

Despite numerous Bond girls, 007 has only been married in one previous film. In the 1969 adaptation of the Ian Fleming novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Australian George Lazenby’s Bond weds Tracy di Vicenzo, played by Diana Rigg, after she helps him fight villain Blofeld.

But as the newlyweds discuss having six children as they drive away, Blofeld and his henchwoman Irma Bunt shoot Tracy dead.
