Two weeks in the Australian ‘jungle’ taught singer Jack Vidgen some valuable life lessons.
At the top of the list after being eliminated from reality show I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! is the fact the singer has vowed to continue working on himself.
“I have got a lot more work to do,” Vidgen told The Daily Telegraph. “I really love where I am at. I love the people in my life and I am learning to love myself”.
Vidgen, who celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, was last night sent packing from the camp after two weeks living with fellow contestants including Toni Pearen, Colin Fassnidge and Grant Denyer.
The show was pre recorded this year and shot in northern NSW instead of the usual location in South Africa.
It began shooting weeks after Vidgen completed a six-week stint at South Pacific Private clinic in Curl Curl for substance abuse.
Vidgen is the baby-faced former winner of Australia’s Got Talent 2011. Dubbed Australia’s answer to Justin Bieber, he was signed to Sony Music Australia and released two albums through the label.
He grew up in humble surroundings in Sydney’s northern beaches and has spoken of being homeless as a child.
“I’ve done a lot of work in therapy over the years and it has really paid off because watching myself back (on I’m A Celebrity), I can see it playing out in relationships that I make,” he said.
“Seeing who I was on TV 10 years ago to now, I am actually really proud. I was almost dreading watching it back but I am stoked.”
