It’s a “yes”! Jesinta Campbell celebrates engagement to AFL star Lance “Buddy” Franklin

FOR the very thrilled Jesinta Campbell, there was only one way to express her happy news yesterday: on social media with her own hashtag #ENGAGED.

The 23-year-old announced her engagement to Lance “Buddy” Franklin, 27, with a black and white photo of the pair enjoying their meaningful moment together.

In the candid photo, Campbell’s large engagement ring is visible as she and Franklin celebrated their happy news.

Campbell wrote under the photo: “I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. There are no words to describe how happy we are”.

The pair, who have been in a relationship for 14 months, have kept the intimate details of their relationship relatively private — apart from the array of loved-up photos which have appeared on Campbell’s social media accounts across the course of their relationship.

Franklin, who has a multi-million dollar contract with the Sydney Swans, was said to have accepted the lengthy deal with the Sydney club partly because of his burgeoning romance with Campbell last year.

The newly engaged pair were inundated with congratulations from celebrity friends and fans on Twitter yesterday.

“Happy happy engagement to you @JesintaCampbell! You will make a stunning bride. Enjoy the ride! It’s a lovely time of your life x,” wrote Sarah Harris.

“Huge congrats to the beautiful @JesintaCampbell on her engagement!” wrote Tully Smyth.

Married pair David and Lisa Campbell both chimed in with congratulations, with Campbell showing her appreciation for all the goodwill.

“Thank you! So happy xxx” Campbell wrote. “We are overwhelmed by all of your amazing messages! Thank you XO”.

Campbell only recently opened up about Franklin’s effect on her physically, telling Women’s Health magazine “I’ve never associated myself with the word sexy until being with Buddy.”

“I’ve always been sporty and tomboyish — I wasn’t the pretty girl at school.

“Now, being in a relationship where I’m supported on every level, I’ve come into myself.”

Campbell and Franklin began living together in Sydney earlier this year before revealing their engagement plans publicly yesterday.

The former Miss Universe Australia winner has previously said she hopes to start a family within the next five years.
