QUESTIONS have been asked about the status of Dan Single and Bambi Northwood-Blyth’s relationship, with the model gallivanting around Europe while her partner recuperates in Sydney.
Friends have told Confidential the socialite couple’s relationship has been on the rocks for months, even before Single’s accident in Paris, which saw him fall several metres from a balcony.
Single snuck quietly back into Sydney a few weeks ago while much younger partner Northwood-Blyth has been living it up in Ibiza.
She celebrated her 27th birthday there this week, surrounded by close friends, including fellow model Megan Blake Irwin.
“Things haven’t been great between them,” a close friend told Confidential.
“The party lifestyle looks to have finally caught up.”
The couple came under fire in April for attempting to crowdfund $250,000 for Single’s recovery despite leading a lavish globetrotting lifestyle.
They later deleted the page after being mercilessly trolled.
Single, who is believed to be in his early 40s, fell from a third-floor balcony at the Hotel Grand Amour when the couple were in Paris for the city’s annual Fashion Week in March.
The couple’s representative Gemma McFarland did not respond to Confidential’s telephone calls or emails yesterday.
Single founded cult label Ksubi in 1999, which folded with $9 million owing to creditors in 2009.
In 2013, he was banned from directing or managing companies for three years and hit with a $3 million fine for trading while insolvent.
Most recently he has spent his time working as a deejay at various parties around Sydney and overseas.
