Never has there been so much chatter about an eastern suburbs interior designer.
Sunday Confidential’s phone has been ringing hot in recent weeks regarding a drama involving one of the city’s most high-profile interior designers and one of the city’s best-known health gurus.
Jack Freeman, known for having a penchant for a private jet and impeccably designed home, has reportedly had a major stoush with the well-known health guru and her husband, who we have chosen not to name.
We have not been able to get to the bottom of exactly what went down between the trio because the client in question did not want to comment.
But Freeman did shine a light on some of the issues, telling Confidential on Saturday: “When a client engages and then terminates over five interior designers on one single project, at some stage one has to ask themselves if they are the problem or the designer is.
“I only work on luxury projects at the highest level and our longstanding clients understand the value of fine quality and supporters of the arts.
“Unfortunately, not all clients respect this.
“Due to confidentiality, I am unable to disclose details of my client relationships.”
It comes as we can reveal Freeman is no longer working closely with Simon Cohen, despite forming a business named Cohen Freeman in recent years.
“I have great respect for Simon as a business partner and friend, and we have amicably decided to go our separate ways to allow us to focus on our core businesses,” Freeman said.
Freeman was 18 when he set up his design firm, the Jack Freeman Group.
He has since registered a number of other businesses, including Freeman & Co and Freeman Gallery.
The interior designer has also worked closely with StudioJos interior architecture/design and project management founder and director Joss Knight, but it is believed they are no longer working together.
This comes as just this week, Freeman announced he is opening a flagship store in Sydney.
It is reportedly due to open in September, with Freeman asking clients to email him if they want to enlist his services.
One thing is for sure, Freeman lives the high life.
His Instagram account showcases his extravagant travels all around the world, often on a private jet.
