What the hell is The Splashies?

ADA Nicodemou was the centre of attention when she appeared in a skimpy one-piece at a celebrity event at the Commonwealth Games pool — but she says she hasn’t been seen in swimmers on screen for more than a decade.

The 20-year Home And Away veteran competed in a lilo race against the likes of Barry Hall and Mel Schlanger on Saturday night, and said afterwards producers of the hit Channel 7 soap stopped filming her wearing swimmers “probably 15 years” ago.

“They just haven’t asked me, I don’t know whether I should be offended or not,” the 40-year-old said.

“I have no issues with being in swimmers. I love my body. I’m just comfortable with how I look. It’s a great way to be.

“I actually love getting older,” Nicodemou said. “I just become more secure and confident. I don’t sweat the small stuff. ”

The busy mum to five-year-old son Johnas said she has no plans to leave the show anytime soon.

Since launching 30 years ago, Home And Away has featured the likes of Isla Fisher, Melissa George, Demi Harman and Jodie Anasta parading in their swimsuits along Sydney’s Palm Beach, where the show is filmed.
