Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has opened up about her struggle with body image.

The soap star, 44, revealed that while she’s generally confident in her own skin, at times she has challenging moments.

“I’m not going to lie and say that there haven’t been times that I am not as confident as I should be,” Nicodemou told Confidential.

“We all have those moments and I still do now, but for the majority of times I surround myself with people I love. I think overall I am confident in my own skin.”

Nicodemou, who was recently named an ambassador for hair care company Thanks to Nature, said a clean diet along with regular exercise are her secrets to staying in shape.

“I try to eat well most of the time and I’m lucky as I enjoy exercising too,” she said.

“I try to exercise daily whether it be a walk or a PT session.”

The Logie award-nominee has spoken openly in the past about her views on plastic surgery, saying she’s not opposed to going under the knife.

In 2019, Nicodemou, who plays Leah Patterson on the long-running soap, revealed she had a breast augmentation and Botox injections while defending herself against social trolls who accused her of being “fake”.

“Thank you both for your comments and I appreciate that everyone has a right to an opinion but have you stopped to think what example this gives to other girls and young women about body shaming and tearing down other women?” Nicodemou wrote on Instagram.

“This is where cyber bullying begins. And btw I don’t use fillers and I rarely use Botox and the only surgery that I’ve done as [sic] is ‘fake’ is breast augmentation which I have every right to do. Maybe think before you post next time.”

When asked whether she has ever felt industry pressure to look a certain way Nicodemou said: “I like to look and feel good for myself and I like taking care of myself.”

Nicodemou shares a nine-year-old son, Johnas, with her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas.

She is dating businessman, Adam Rigby.
