Superstar couple Lisa and Dustin Hoffman reveal the secret to their successful 36 year union.

Love birds Dustin Hoffman and wife Lisa are just as in love as when they first met.

LISA Hoffman is used to being on the arm of superstar husband Dustin on red carpets like the Oscars.

But on his first trip to Australia this week, Dustin was the handbag as Lisa took centre stage.

“We’ve been married 36 years and together 40 years,” Lisa told The Daily Telegraph.

“I say in Hollywood it is like dog years so you have to multiply that by seven. Maybe we are more in love (than when we were married), it continues to grow.”

The Hoffman’s wed in 1980 and have four children together, two boys and two girls. And Lisa is stepmum to Dustin’s two other daughters.

Asked if they are Hollywood’s most successful couple, she said: “I don’t know about the most but I know that it has been successful. One of the challenges that actors have is that they travel often for their jobs. Dustin and I made the decision immediately that we would stick together and no matter how challenging it was for our children or for us, we went everywhere with him, the whole group of us. We went with him to make his movies, from Morroco to Cincinatti, and I think it helped being together.”

The couple chose to always remain close.

The Hoffman’s are in Sydney to mark the one year anniversary of her partnership with TVSN selling her Lisa Hoffman Beauty perfume and jewellery products.

This week they launch her new fragrance, Hawaiian Plumeria, with each of the perfumes and fragrance beads named after destinations.

“Hawaii is a location near and dear to my heart,” explained Lisa, 62. “Dustin and I spent our honeymoon there, we celebrated several anniversaries there, we went there with our children and most recently with our grandchildren.”

While proud of her husband, it is important to Lisa that she make her own name.

“That was an obstacle to overcome, that this is not a celebrity brand,” she said. “I am so far from a celebrity, I just happen to be married to an actor.”

Sydney, or Australia more generally, could be the subject of Lisa’s next fragrance.

“I have been really influenced and inspired by the flora and fauna here, it is absolutely amazing.

“It is a great possibility we will do something from here, it has been in my mind for the whole year since I was last here.”

Two-time Academy Award winner Dustin, 79, has been equally as impressed with the country.

“He has fallen in love with the city.”
